Sometimes They Get Hungry Read online

  The haunted house exit door opened and the cart rolled out. The carny noticed the cart was empty. Then he looked back down, a troubled grimace on his face.

  Meanwhile, near the back side of the haunted house, Drew and Rebecca crawled out from underneath the building. They stood up and dusted themselves off. Drew laughed out loud.

  “You think he could hear our screaming?” asked Drew.

  Rebecca just shook her head, amused but feeling slightly guilty.

  “Now he’s gonna hate you even more,” she said.

  Drew chuckled, took her hand and led her to the front of the haunted house. They looked for Bobby, but didn’t see him.

  “Where’d he go?” asked Drew. Rebecca looked around, shrugging.

  “Probably getting a funnel cake or something,” said Rebecca.

  Drew nodded. He put his arms around Rebecca and they smiled, waiting patiently.
